20130221 Kashan

Today Kashan is the major centre for the production of textiles, rugs and rose water.

The traditional house converted Hotel Ehsan was really handsome. It was good to escape the crowds in Tehran and enjoyed the relaxing ambience of Kashan.

There are several well-maintained traditional houses in Kashan, which are the main tourist attractions of this town. The architecture was no doubt intricate and elegant, honestly they were not so spectacular or a must-see.

Beautiful traditional house converted hotel - Hotel Ehsan.

A view of Hotel Ehsan.

The gentleman drove past and waved at me, gestured to take a photo of him.

Masjed-e Agha Borzog, was quite empty during my visit.

Like the ceiling of the dome, the design is symmetrical and colorful.

 Traditional house Khan-e Abbasian.

Shadow casted on the floor.

Traditional house Khan-e Tabatabei - courtyard.

 View through stained glass window.

A view of old town, everything is brownish.

Mosque viewed through an arch.

Hammam-e Sultan Mir Ahmad, no longer functioned, only for display. I think all hammams (bathhouse) have been shut down to avoid any related sexual idea even among men.

Hammam - a social spot in the ancient time. People take a rest after the bath.

Khan-e Borujerdi.
